I love Jeff Warren. As I struggle with my relationship to my boys, this was kind of poignant.

A lot of that applies to adult relationships as well!

The most honest line I’ve heard to describe how meditation changes people, or at least how meditation has changed me, is: “Hurt more, suffer less.” Things go through more quickly, because there’s less blocking and protecting. But they also hurt more, because … there’s less blocking and protecting. That’s what happens when you let life in.

Yup. This.

Maybe his son is called Eden for a reason. Why are children so joyful? The way I interpret this reading, is this: Being free is being unattached. Children are unattached - to sex, money, career, other people.

The real teacher in this reading is Eden, not Jeff.

I have one 5 yo boy and one 6 months old :D Love them to bits but boy can all this family dynamics get over my head every once in a while. My 5 yo is the one testing boundries for 2 years now and he is not backing off but rather is finding new creative ways to go against what we ask :D

I have noticed that in stages where EQ is dominant there is no issues with any kind of behavior he throws out :D However if DN stuff is present then reactions on my part do show and we get anoyed with each other, overwhelmed so to speak.

Its wholsome to try and "wait out" these nasty stages as they will pass away. Keep up the practice is all I can do. If there is TOO MUCH bleedthrough pick up Noting and see whats going on and dismantle the crap looping state which is re-suffering this moment.
There is this toolbox to be used.

But yes, :D it aint easy this family stuff :D Wish you all the best and hang in there (and keep the practice flowing)
